Evelina’s Biography

Evelina Sarian is a designer, educator, entrepreneur, and community leader who brings a lifelong record of creativity, leadership, and service to her campaign for Glendale City Council. Born in Armenia into a family that blended artistry with entrepreneurship, Evelina learned early the values of hard work, vision, and community. Those lessons became the foundation for a remarkable career that has spanned continents and industries—from the fashion capitals of the world to classrooms, boardrooms, and civic life here in Glendale.

After studying at Atex College in Armenia and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, Evelina’s talent earned international acclaim. Her award-winning designs were featured at Los Angeles Fashion Week and sold at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman. She received honors including the Rudi Gernreich Award in Los Angeles, the Onward Koshiyama Grand Prix Finalist distinction in Tokyo, and the Samsung Fashion Competition Gold Medal in Seoul.

But Evelina’s story extends far beyond the runway. She has dedicated much of her career to education, teaching and mentoring students at Otis College of Art and Design since 2005, later serving as Dean at both Fremont College and the Art Institute. Her academic journey continued with two master’s degrees from Woodbury University, one in Organizational Leadership and another in Business Administration, focusing on Management and Marketing. Her passion for learning and leadership has guided her commitment to helping others unlock their potential.

Evelina’s experience also extends to media and entrepreneurship. As a TV host at New York Fashion Week, she interviewed international icons such as Tom Ford, Oprah Winfrey, and David Copperfield, connecting global audiences through culture and creativity. She later founded and sold her own yoga and athleisure brand, Peggy Moffitt, and served as a consultant for established fashion companies like Komarov. Her work has consistently bridged innovation, business, and education—values she’s ready to bring to Glendale’s City Hall.

At home in Glendale, Evelina is deeply engaged in the community she loves. Together with her husband, Mike Sarian, she has supported local and philanthropic initiatives from cultural events and religious fundraisers to youth sports and the Los Angeles Food Bank. She’s a proud mother and active community member who believes in strengthening families and empowering neighborhoods.
